Film magazine

Below is my finished film magazine. I have used the gradient effect for my magazine as i think this helps the image to appear 3D, it also makes the text stand out and gives the magazine a professional look. I have chosen 'The Zone' as it is the quote that is featured on my film poster which links both pieces of work together. This film magazine is a mix of genra's which is shown through the featured movies. I chose blue for the text as it is easy to read on the gradient background. The outer glow effect makes the text stand out which makes the magazine more appealing to the audience. The vibrant colours contrast with the horror image which  gives my magazine a unique look. I have made my sell line into the shape of a 'Z' as this help to reinforce the Zombie theme it also helps to reinforce the alliteration 'Zombitz is Zomtastic' The play on words fantastic to zomtastic suggests that this will be a fantastic zombie movie. I have manipulated the main image using photoshop to make the surgeon zombie like. This gives the magazine a creepy tone and draws the audience in as it is not the kind of image you see everyday. The fact that the surgeon is now a zombie also gives you an insite into what happens in the film. To make the surgeon look like a zombie i did a number of different things. I made the whites of the eyes yellow and made the eyes appear sunken in by darkening the bottom lid, this gives the zombie an 'undead' appearance, which draws the audience in and will create a sense of fear. I have also manipulated the teeth to make them appear rotten and to make it look as if part of the flesh has been 'ripped away' this reinforces that the surgeon is now a zombie along with the flesh that has been ripped away from her cheek.
