In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

I have used many conventions in my film trailer such as an associated film producers 'twisted pictures' which is seen on many horror trailers such as Saw. This helps the trailer to look professional as this is a well known producer which may make the audience more likely to go see the film. The credits at the end of the trailer is also another common convention. I have challenged the movie rating convention as i have used a different style of movie rating which gives my trailer a unique look. Also the way the text looks in my trailer is unique but it fits in with the theme of the trailer. My film magazine also uses many conventions as it has a main image of the featured film with smaller sell lines on the left side of my film magazine with a sell line in a circle as this draws attention to it without demanding to much attention from the reader as the use of sell lines down one side is commonly used in real magazines. My film poster has many conventions like the diary of the dead poster as they both have the same cartoon effect, as this gives my film poster a creepy feel. I have also included a age limit on my poster as this allows the audience to know that this is a restricted movie. I have included movie credits and a quote from my film magazine as these are conventions you would normally see on a movie poster. I Incorporated this as diary of the dead and my trailer have many of the same conventions. As you can see from the diary of the dead trailer and my trailer there are many similar conventions. Both trailers use a hand held camera effect as this gives the film a more personal feel. Both trailers use a static effect as this reinforces the idea that the footage you are seeing is being documented and is being seen first hand, the static effect makes it seem like the camera footage is breaking up. The score used on my trailer challenges conventions as there is lyrics which is not commonly seen as most music used just has the sound in. I kept the lyrics in as i feel this gives my trailer a creepier effect than if it was just the sound.
