Inspirational Film Magazines

The colour scheme on this magazine is powerful as it draws the readers attention. The use of blue and white works well together, and helps certain parts to stand out more. The use pf red helps to break up the text without drawing attention away from the sell lines '39 new films' and 'Johnny Depp'. The use of the gradient grey effect for the background helps to make the masted stand out. The background also fits in with the theme of the image of Johnny Depp as sweeny todd. This is a simplistic but powerful image as he looks very menicing, which is how the character is portrayed within the film. The colour of the clothing he is wearing helps to portray the genra of the film which is horror. This magazine draws your attention as it is not overcrowded.

Straight away you can tell this is a special edition of the magazine as there is a drematic image taking over the cover and there is no text. This is such a popular film that the image is instantly recognisable as 'Harry Potter'. The use of the background image of a portal of energy/magic helps to show the genra that it is which is fantasy. It also reinforces what the film is about which is magic, the fact that harry is holding a wand that is glowing with energy also reinforces this. The way Harry is leaning forward looks as if he is going to come put of the magazine, which draws the reader in.
Again you can instantly tell that this is a special edition as there is a dramatic image taking up all of the front cover with the sell line 'Behind the Mask'. If you are a star wars fan then this will instantly draw your attention as you will want to know more about Darth Vader. The way the light is reflected on his mask makes it look as if he is about to come out of the magazine as it makes him look 3D rather than flat. This draws you in and makes you want to read on.
